 Dr. Jason Harper
Dr. Jason Harper is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Harper attained his Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree from Christian Brothers University in Memphis. He earned his Medical Doctorate (M.D.) degree from the University of Tennessee in Memphis and completed a 5 year Residency in General Surgery at the University. In addition, he completed a year long fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatric (weight-loss) Surgery at the University of Tennessee with special training in advanced laparoscopic surgery techniques.
Dr. Harper is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. He has authored or co-authored numerous research articles in surgery. Using small scar surgical techniques and advanced laparoscopy, Dr. Harper can offer patients shorter hospital stays and a quicker recovery than was possible with older techniques.
